1. About Us
Portugal Tours Your Way is a premium private tour and transfer company based in Lisbon, Portugal. We specialise in fully personalised private tours across mainland Portugal, Madeira, and the Azores — including day tours, multi-day itineraries, and private airport and city transfers.

2. Definitions
In these Terms and Conditions, the following terms shall have the meanings set out below:
- "We", "Us", "Our" — Portugal Tours Your Way.
- "You", "Client", "Guest" — the person(s) making an enquiry or booking with us.
- "Service" — any private tour, day trip, multi-day tour, or private transfer provided by us.
- "Booking" — a confirmed agreement between you and us for the provision of a Service on agreed terms.
- "Booking Confirmation" — the written confirmation (via WhatsApp or email) that a booking has been agreed between both parties.
- "Itinerary" — the agreed route, schedule, stops, and activities forming part of a tour.
- "Agreed Price" — the total price confirmed in writing at the time of booking.
3. Our Services
We offer the following private services:
- Private Day Tours — fully guided private day tours to destinations across Portugal, including Sintra, Cascais, Évora, Óbidos, Fátima, Nazaré, the Algarve, Douro Valley, and many more.
- Private Multi-Day Tours — tailor-made itineraries spanning multiple days, combining regions, accommodation recommendations, and curated experiences.
- Private Transfers — comfortable, punctual private transfers between airports, hotels, cities, and attractions throughout Portugal.
All our services are exclusively private — we do not operate shared or group tours. Every service is designed and delivered for your group alone.
We do not sell or represent hotels, airlines, or travel insurance products. Our services cover transportation and guiding only, unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing.
4. How Bookings Work
We believe in personal service from the very beginning. Unlike many tour operators, we do not use an automated online booking or payment platform. Instead, every booking follows a personalised process:
- Enquiry — You contact us via our online enquiry form, email, or WhatsApp to share your travel dates, group size, interests, and any special requirements.
- Custom Proposal — We respond within 24 hours with a tailored proposal including a suggested itinerary, pricing, and any relevant details.
- Discussion & Adjustments — We discuss the proposal with you and refine the itinerary as needed. There is no obligation at this stage.
- Booking Confirmation — A booking is confirmed only when both you and we have agreed in writing (via WhatsApp or email) to the service, itinerary, date, price, and any special arrangements. At this point, these Terms and Conditions become binding.
- Payment — Payment terms are agreed individually at the time of booking confirmation (see Section 5).
No booking is confirmed by the receipt of an enquiry form alone. A booking is only confirmed when we have exchanged written agreement via email or WhatsApp.
5. Pricing & Payment
All prices are quoted in euros (EUR) and are inclusive of the services listed in the agreed proposal. Prices are not inclusive of entrance fees, meals, accommodation, gratuities, or any other personal expenses unless expressly stated in the proposal.
Payment terms
Payment terms — including deposit amount, balance due date, and accepted payment methods — are agreed individually at the time of each booking confirmation. We will communicate all payment details clearly in writing before any payment is requested.
Accepted payment methods
We accept payment by bank transfer (IBAN), PayPal, or such other methods as communicated at the time of booking. Cash payment may be arranged by prior agreement.
Prices and quotes
All prices quoted in proposals are valid for 7 days from the date of issue, unless otherwise stated. We reserve the right to adjust pricing for bookings that are confirmed after this period, or where the scope of the service changes materially.
6. Cancellations & Changes
Our full cancellation and modification policy is set out in our Quality & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these Terms and Conditions.
In summary:
- Cancellations made more than 72 hours before the service date: no charge.
- Cancellations made between 24 and 72 hours before the service date: 50% of the agreed price.
- Cancellations made less than 24 hours before, or no-shows on the day: 100% of the agreed price.
- We may cancel a service due to extreme weather, safety concerns, or force majeure: full refund or free reschedule offered.
Itinerary modifications are welcomed — flexibility is central to our service. Requests to modify the itinerary before or during a tour are handled at our discretion and subject to feasibility, safety, and timing.
7. Weather & Operational Conditions
Portugal's landscapes span diverse climates — from Atlantic coastlines to inland plains — and conditions can vary significantly between regions and seasons. While we strive to deliver every service as planned, we reserve the right to make reasonable alterations to routes, timings, or stops where necessary due to:
- Adverse weather conditions (heavy rain, storms, extreme heat, fog)
- Road closures, accidents, or roadworks
- Safety concerns at specific sites or viewpoints
- Access restrictions or closures at attractions
- Any other unforeseen operational circumstances
In such circumstances, we will always offer the best available alternative and communicate any changes to you as early as possible. Our aim is always to maximise the quality of your experience, even when conditions require adjustments.
If weather or conditions make it unsafe or impractical to deliver a service entirely, Section 6 (Cancellations) and our Quality & Cancellation Policy will apply.
8. Our Obligations
We commit to providing the following as part of every booking:
- Prompt, professional, and courteous service at all times.
- A licensed, experienced, and knowledgeable driver or guide.
- A clean, comfortable, fully insured, and roadworthy private vehicle appropriate to your group size.
- Punctual pickup from the agreed location at the agreed time.
- A response to all enquiries and messages within 24 hours.
- Clear and transparent communication regarding any changes to the agreed service.
- Full compliance with all applicable Portuguese and EU laws, including licensing and safety regulations.
9. Client Obligations
By making a booking, you agree to the following:
- Punctuality: Be ready at the agreed pickup location at the confirmed time. Delays of more than 30 minutes without prior notice may be treated as a no-show.
- Accuracy of information: Provide accurate information regarding your group size, any special requirements (mobility needs, dietary restrictions, medical conditions), and contact details.
- Conduct: Treat our driver, guide, and vehicle with respect. We reserve the right to terminate a service without refund in cases of abusive, disruptive, or dangerous behaviour.
- Seat belts: All passengers must wear seat belts at all times while the vehicle is in motion, in accordance with Portuguese law.
- Vehicle care: You are responsible for any damage caused to the vehicle by members of your group beyond normal wear and tear.
- Travel insurance: We strongly recommend that all clients hold valid comprehensive travel insurance covering cancellation, medical expenses, and personal liability before travelling to Portugal.
- Minors: Clients travelling with children are responsible for ensuring appropriate child seats or restraints are arranged in advance. Please inform us at the time of booking.
10. Liability
We accept liability for the proper performance of our obligations as described in these Terms and Conditions. However, our liability is subject to the following limitations:
- We are not liable for any loss, damage, delay, injury, or inconvenience caused by events beyond our reasonable control (see Section 11: Force Majeure).
- We are not liable for the services of third parties — including but not limited to hotels, restaurants, attraction operators, or other providers — even where recommended by us.
- We are not liable for the loss, theft, or damage of personal belongings during our services. We recommend travel insurance that covers personal effects.
- Our total liability to any client shall not exceed the total amount paid by that client for the relevant service.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under Portuguese law.
11. Force Majeure
Neither party shall be liable for any failure or delay in performing their obligations under these Terms and Conditions where such failure or delay results from events genuinely beyond their reasonable control. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Natural disasters (earthquakes, floods, wildfires, extreme weather events)
- Pandemics, epidemics, or public health emergencies
- Acts of terrorism, civil unrest, or government-imposed travel restrictions
- Industrial action or strikes affecting transport infrastructure
- Government regulations or orders preventing the delivery of the service
In the event that a force majeure event prevents us from delivering a confirmed service, we will offer you either a full refund of any amounts already paid, or the option to reschedule at no additional cost.
12. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Portugal.
Any disputes that cannot be resolved amicably between the parties shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lisbon, Portugal.
Consumers resident in the European Union may also have access to the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
Before resorting to formal dispute resolution, we encourage clients to contact us directly. We are committed to resolving any concerns promptly and fairly.
13. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to update or amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. The current version will always be published on this page with the date of last update shown at the top.
Changes will not affect bookings that have already been confirmed in writing prior to the date of any update. For all new enquiries and bookings, the version of these Terms in force at the time of booking confirmation shall apply.
